Associations Assisting the Blind and Visually Impaired

National Federation of the Blind - Founded in 1940, the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) is the nation's largest and most influential membership organization of blind persons.

National Federation of the Blind - of Massachusetts - State affiliate of the NFB.

American Council of the Blind - This service provides general information about the Council, including recent issues of its monthly publication, The Braille Forum.

Massachusetts Association for the Blind - Dedicated to eliminating barriers and creating opportunities for people with visual and other disabilities to participate fully and meaningfully in their communities.

Massachusetts Commission for the Blind - The mission of the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind is to work in partnership with legally blind individuals to reach their goals of independence and participation in their communities.

Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired - AER is the only international membership organization dedicated to rendering all possible support and assistance to the professionals who work in all phases of education and rehabilitation of blind and visually impaired children and adults.

Greater Boston Aid to the Blind - devoted exclusively to the personal support and rehabilitation of adults aged 50 and over who are visually impaired.

Association of Blind Citizens - ABC advances relevant causes, increase opportunities in education, employment, cultural, recreational and other life activities, as well as enhance the social, political, and economic well-being for all persons who are blind or visually impaired.

Talking Information Center - The Talking Information Center broadcasts the reading of printed material over an extensive network of commercial and noncommercial radio and cable TV outlets. Twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, we help keep the visually-impaired and print-handicapped population of Massachusetts better informed.
